Paul the Peacock (Reluctantly) to the Rescue tells the story of Paul the Peacock, who was once the most selfish animal in the forest. Now, he's attempting to embrace his new identity as Mr Kind, but he finds it exhausting! When his cousin sends a letter asking for help, Paul tries to ignore it. However, his best pal, Norris, has other ideas.

Together, Paul and Norris embark on a treacherous rescue adventure to help find Connie the peahen a new home. But when they arrive, a little lost egg joins the rescue party, much to Paul's dismay! When the egg hatches into a peafowl chick, Paul tries to leave it behind, but eventually takes the chick under his - colourful - wing. The little chick soon shows Paul that being caring and thoughtful may be worth it after all.

This hilarious story, filled with comic deadpan moments and vivid, expressive illustrations, conveys an important message about love and nurture.
