The first magical story in the Faraway Tree series by one of the world's most beloved children's authors, Enid Blyton.

This enchanting adventure begins when siblings Joe, Beth, and Frannie move to the countryside and discover an eerie and captivating forest right on the doorstep of their new home. Dubbed the Enchanted Wood, this mystical woodland is home to the majestic and mysterious Faraway Tree. As the children explore, they encounter a host of fantastical creatures and magical friends while embarking on spellbinding journeys and thrilling escapades.

The towering Faraway Tree holds secrets unknown to the mortal world. Its branches are inhabited by whimsical characters such as Moonface, with his circular abode, the quirky Saucepan Man who jingles with every step, and the delicate Silky the Fairy. Together with their newfound friends, Joe, Beth, and Frannie eagerly climb the tree to discover the spellbinding lands that appear at its summit, each more wondrous than the last.

Every visit to the top of the Faraway Tree reveals a different land of enchantment. Whether it is the Land of Spells where magical incantations run wild, the Land of Treats filled with delectable surprises, or the delightful Land of Do-As-You-Please where whims become reality, the adventures never cease to amaze. The children find themselves amidst an array of fantastical settings, braving unexpected challenges and immersing in joyful escapades that stir their imaginations.

First published in 1939, this edition contains the original text by Enid Blyton, preserving the charm that has made this series a favourite for generations of young readers. Accompanied by engaging illustrations from Jan McCafferty and a delightful cover by Mark Beech (2014), this book continues to enchant and inspire.
