About the Author
Kadya Molodowsky was a beloved Yiddish poet. As a teacher, she was inspired by her young students to write lively, humorous poetry. She wrote The Life of a Coat in 1931 to entertain these children, many of whom hailed from poor families and didn't own a winter coat. Batia Kolton is an Israeli illustrator and art director. Along with Rutu Modan, she belongs to the cartoonist collective Actus Tragicus.
