He probably lived for years in Rome and possibly also in Alexandria and Athens.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHis three surviving works are \u003ci\u003eOutlines of Pyrrhonism\u003c\/i\u003e (three books on the practical and ethical scepticism of Pyrrho of Elis, ca. 360–275 BCE, as developed later, presenting also a case against the Dogmatists); \u003ci\u003eAgainst the Dogmatists\u003c\/i\u003e (five books dealing with the Logicians, the Physicists, and the Ethicists); and \u003ci\u003eAgainst the Professors\u003c\/i\u003e (six books: Grammarians, Rhetors, Geometers, Arithmeticians, Astrologers, and Musicians).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThese two latter works might be called a general criticism of professors of all arts and sciences.
