Vagabond (VIZBIG Edition), Vol. 5 by Takehiko Inoue continues the gripping tale of Miyamoto Musashi, the most celebrated samurai of all time, as he traverses an unrelenting path of self-discovery and mastery of the sword. In this volume, both seasoned fans and new readers will delve deeper into the intricate and intense universe that Inoue has masterfully crafted, blending historical fact with mesmerizing fiction.

Three volumes in one! A prestige treatment of Inoue’s epic samurai series with bonus content, colour pages, storyboard samples and more!

The saga focuses on real-life figure Miyamoto Musashi, renowned as the quintessential warrior-philosopher. Famed for authoring A Book of Five Rings, a profound treatise on philosophy and military strategy, Musashi's journey to enlightenment is fraught with peril, demanding not just physical prowess but profound mental fortitude. As Musashi hones his skills through various encounters and skirmishes, his quest goes beyond mere survival; it is a relentless pursuit of spiritual enlightenment through the way of the sword.

Glimmering Waves

Set against the backdrop of a remote seaside village, the narrative introduces a pivotal character destined to intersect Musashi's path. An abandoned infant, destined to grow into Sasaki Kojirō, is left in the care of a reclusive old man who has largely turned his back on the chaotic world. Inoue's unique interpretation of Kojirō outlines the early beginnings of Musashi’s legendary archrival, setting the stage for what is arguably the most famous rivalry in Japanese history.

This VIZBIG edition not only amplifies the storytelling experience with its expansive format but also enriches it with bonus content, including colour pages and storyboard samples. Dive deep into the juxtaposition of Musashi’s and Kojirō’s destinies as Inoue skillfully navigates their intertwined fates with both artistic flair and historical reverence.

Vagabond (VIZBIG Edition), Vol. 5 is more than just a continuation of Musashi's journey; it is an exploration of human spirit, discipline, and the profound connections forged through life's adversities. Perfect for fans of samurai lore and those intrigued by philosophical introspection, this volume promises to captivate and inspire.
